If your aim is maximum reliability…
…BHS TwinTors diaphragm couplings are the ideal choice.
TwinTors diaphragm couplings transmit high torques at high speeds and can compensate for axial, radial and angular shaft offsets. Thanks to their solid metal construction, TwinTors couplings are rigid and backlash-free, yet they are also light in weight and have low maintenance requirements.

Compensation for misalignment caused by shaft axial elongation
Compensation for misalignment caused by shaft axial buckling
Compensation for radial misalignment
Compensation for radial and angular misalignment
Diaphragm couplings require no lubrication or maintenance, and are free from both backlash and wear. The diaphragm elements retain their flexible characteristics throughout the lifetime of the coupling.
TwinTors diaphragm couplings transmit large torques at high speeds, and have low elastic forces even when compensating for large shaft offsets. They are characterised by their linear load-deflection characteristics for both axial and radial offsets. The double diaphragm cosntruction produces a compact, small-diameter coupling that requires only small guards. A smooth profile with no bolts on the outside means low windage and low noise.
The high, reproducible balancing effect is an additional benefit of TwinTors diaphragm couplings.
TwinTors diaphragm couplings are designed and manufactured for torques up to 1,500,000 Nm and speeds up to approximately 80,000 rpm. These advanced, high-quality products have proved themselves particularly in high-speed units. Extensive fatigue tests provide evidence of their extremely high mechanical stability and confirm the BHS concept of lightweight design.
The BHS standard range includes couplings for angular misalignments of up to 0.25°. Designs for angular misalignments of up to 0.5° and other special versions (e.g. with carbon fibre reinforced plastics, spacers or torque measuring devices) are also available.
TwinTors diaphragm couplings meet the requirements of API 671 and ISO 10441. They are approved under ATEX for zones 1 and 2.
Coupling manufacturers face ever-growing demands from end-users in oil and gas, chemicals and other branches of industry, who expect safe and reliable transmission of high power at high speed. Our experience, technical know-how and manufacturing skills allow us to supply couplings that meet industry’s needs.
